Kejriwal surrenders in Tihar Jail; Tells AAP workers - I don't know what will happen to me there

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail on Sunday. Earlier, he went to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office and met the workers. He said, 'I am going to jail to save the country. I don't know when I will come back. I don't know what will happen to me there.'

The Delhi CM said, 'The exit polls for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections came out yesterday. Take it in writing, all these exit polls are fake. An exit poll had given 33 seats to the BJP in Rajasthan, while there are only 25 seats there. The real issue is why did they have to do this? They must have been pressurized.'

Kejriwal went to Rajghat, then worshiped at Hanuman temple

The Delhi Chief Minister first reached Rajghat at 3:30 pm. Here he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi's Samadhi. After this, Kejriwal also visited the Hanuman temple at Connaught Place. Later he reached the Aam Aadmi Party office.

His interim bail in the Delhi liquor policy case ended on Saturday (1 June). The Supreme Court had granted him interim bail for election campaign on 10 May.

Arvind Kejriwal reached Rajghat with his wife Sunita and his ministers.

Kejriwal has thanked the Supreme Court for granting him bail. He wrote on Twitter today - On the orders of the Supreme Court, I came out for 21 days for election campaign. Many thanks to the Supreme Court for this.

Kejriwal came out of Tihar Jail on 10 May after 39 days. The ED arrested him on 21 March. Before this, the investigating agency had sent him 9 summons. However, Kejriwal did not appear before the investigating agency for questioning even once.

After the arrest, Kejriwal was in ED custody for the first 10 days. On 1 April, the court sent him to Tihar Jail in judicial custody. He spent 39 days in Tihar till 10 May. He came out in the evening of 10th May.

Will undergo medical checkup upon reaching Tihar

According to Tihar sources, as soon as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reaches Tihar Jail, after all the paperwork is completed, his medical checkup will be done by the Tihar administration. Everything from his sugar level to his weight will be checked. The Tihar administration says that all preparations have been completed from their side.
