New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sworn in today, alongside 72 ministers of the new coalition government. The ministerial team comprises 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State. The specific portfolios will be announced later.
At 73, PM Modi is embarking on his third term, dubbed Modi 3.0, and for the first time, he will lead a coalition government since he first became Prime Minister in 2014 after a significant "Brand Modi" victory, which followed a decade of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) rule.
The oath ceremony took place on the lawns of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to PM Modi. Following him, Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah were sworn in.
Nitin Gadkari and JP Nadda also took oath as part of the cabinet members during the oath taking ceremony.
