What AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Said About JDU Leader KC Tyagi's Demand To Review Agniveer Yojana?

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh has voiced support for JDU's demand to review the Agniveer Yojana.

Sanjay Singh remarked, "Agniveer Yojana is a betrayal to Mother India and the Indian Army. PM Modi should have canceled this scheme earlier. The previous recruitment system should be reinstated."

He added, "Previously, soldiers received one year of training, but this has been reduced to six months. The demand raised by JDU is 100 percent justified."

Public has expressed concerns about this scheme: Tyagi

JDU leader KC Tyagi also addressed the media, stating, "A section of voters is unhappy with the Agniveer Yojana. Our party believes that the shortcomings and flaws of this scheme should be thoroughly discussed, as the public has expressed concerns about it."

The announcement of the Agnipath Scheme had sparked violent protests across several regions, as young people preparing for military careers opposed the short-term service plan.

The main opposition party, Congress, opposed the scheme and made it a central issue in their Lok Sabha election campaign, arguing that it would leave Agniveers unemployed by age 25.

The Centre, however, contended that the Agnipath scheme is designed to enhance the battle preparedness of the armed forces and achieve a balance of youth and experience within the ranks.

Tyagi has also expressed reservations about implementation of Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and said that all stakeholders should be consulted before implementation of UCC.
