Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi met farmers on Wednesday.
After this meeting, the Congress party posted from its official X handle and quoted Rahul Gandhi as saying, "Some farmers wanted to meet me, so I called them inside the office. But they were not allowed to come inside, you will have to ask the Prime Minister the reason for this."
After meeting Rahul Gandhi, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said, "We had come to meet Rahul Gandhi. He has listened to us completely. There has been a long discussion on the MSP guarantee law that we wanted to make."
Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the Congress Party and all the parties of the India component assured us that we will try to get all the issues of farmers and farm laborers done with full prominence in the Parliament.
At the same time, Rahul Gandhi said that, in our manifesto, there has been a talk about giving legal rights to MSP. We have fully evaluated it and that can be done.
Rahul Gandhi said that we have held a meeting with the farmers and have decided that we will talk to the rest of the leaders of the All India Alliance.
After the talks, we will try to put pressure on the government to give the farmers a legal guarantee of MSP.
When asked if Rahul can bring a private member bill on the MSP law, he replied that discussions are going on about it. We will decide something after discussing it.
