Indore: Union Home Minister Amit Shah led record-breaking tree plantation drive as Indore created a world record of planting 11 lakh saplings in a single day.
Amit Shah made an emotional appeal to the countrymen amidst the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign going on across the country, saying that planting a tree is easy, but nurturing it is difficult. After planting a tree, take care of it like a son, it will grow up and take care of you like a mother.
Shah led the campaign to plant saplings in Rewati Range. Thousands of citizens joined the campaign. Shah said In this holy campaign of plantation, the young mayor of Indore participated with the support of people from every section of society, Along with the planting of saplings like Peepal, Banyan, Neem etc. in Indore, plants with medicinal properties like Guava, Karonda, Sitaphal, Amla are also being planted.
Indore will be known as Green City
Shah said that on the call of Prime Minister Modi, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign became a mass movement. He said Madhya Pradesh works to provide oxygen to the entire country. With the unprecedented achievement of planting 11 lakh saplings, Indore will become famous all over the world with a new record, he said. Shah said now Indore will be known as Green City. Shsh said that Indore is known for cleanliness, taste, good governance, cooperation and participation. From today, Indore will also be known across the country in the name of this campaign.
Giving details of the program, Shah said that Minister Vijayvargiya has connected every section of the society with this campaign. This is not just a government program. The government cannot make any movement successful, everyone has a role in it. The entire Indore, every caste and society has been connected with this campaign.
The Home Minister said that trees are also mentioned in the scriptures. It is said that one tree is equal to 10 sons. At present, there is concern about the environment in the whole world.
MP gives oxygen to country
Shah said that Madhya Pradesh is called the lung of India. This state gives oxygen to the whole country. 31 percent of the state's area comes under 'forest cover'. This is 12 percent of the entire country that is why tourism has been promoted within the state.
Shah and CM offer worship at Pitreshwar Hanuman Temple
Amit Shah and CM Dr. Mohan Yadav also planted saplings at Pitreshwar Hanuman Dham in Indore. Before this, they prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the country and the state by offering prayers at Hanuman Dham Temple. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya and Legislative Council Member of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Mahendra Singh also planted saplings.
