The Supreme Court will give its decision today on the petition challenging the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The decision will be given by a bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Sanjeev Khanna.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 on charges of alleged scam in Delhi's liquor policy.
The arrest was challenged in the High Court, which was rejected. After this, the matter reached the Supreme Court. After the hearing, the Supreme Court reserved the decision.
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who appeared on behalf of Kejriwal in this case, had raised the question that to implicate Kejriwal, the ED ignored nine statements of witnesses while giving preference to one statement.
He had also raised questions on the truth of the witness' statement and said that P Sharat Reddy, who gave a statement against Kejriwal, had donated to the Bharatiya Janata Party through electoral bonds.
The ED has alleged that the bribe money was used in the assembly elections of Goa and Punjab.
In view of the Lok Sabha elections in May, the Supreme Court on May 10 granted Arvind Kejriwal interim bail for 21 days till June 2, giving him immediate relief for election campaigning.
