UP Unnao Accident: 18 Killed as Double-Decker Bus Collides with Milk Container on Lucknow-Agra Expressway

Unnao (UP): A tanker and a double-decker bus collided on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao, UP on Wednesday. 18 passengers travelling in the bus died in the accident. 30 are injured. Among the dead are 14 men, 3 women and one child.

The double-decker bus rammed into the container from behind. According to the information, the sleeper bus that was the victim of the accident was going from Shivhar in Bihar to Delhi.

This incident took place at kilometer number-247 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway under police station Behta Mujawar area of ​​​​Unnao. In this, the double-decker bus number- UP 95 T 4720 hit the milk tanker number UP70 CT 3999 from behind.

On receiving the information of the incident, the police of police station Behta Mujawar immediately reached the spot and took out all the injured and admitted them to CHC Bangarmau for treatment. On receiving the information of the accident, police and administration officials reached the spot.

The deceased in the accident include Dilshad son of Ashfaq resident of Modipuram police station, Meerut district, age about 22 years; Bitu son of Rajendra resident of Bhadur police station, Shivhar district, Bihar, age about 9 years; Rajneesh son of Ramvilas resident of Siwan district, Bihar; Lalbabu Das son of Ramsuraj Das, Rampravesh Kumar, Bharat Bhushan Kumar son of Lal Bahadur Das, Babu Das son of Ramsuraj Das, all residents of Hiraga police station, Shivhar district, Bihar; Mohd. Saddam son of Mohd. Bashir resident of Gamroli police station, Shivhar, Bihar; Nagma daughter of Mohd. Shahzad, Shabana wife of Mohd. Shahzad, both residents of Bhajanpura, Delhi; Chandni wife of Mohd. Shamshad; Mohd. Shafiq son of Abdul Basir, Munni Khatoon wife of Abdul Basik and Taufiq Alam son of Abdul Basir, all residents of resident of Shivoli, Mulhari.

Apart from this, 4 other people are unknown.

CM Yogi expressed grief 

CM Yogi has expressed grief over this accident and has instructed the officials to reach the spot and expedite the relief and rescue work. He wrote on 'X', "The loss of life in a road accident in Unnao district is extremely sad and heart-rending. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The officials of the district administration have been instructed to reach the spot and expedite the relief work. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give place to the departed souls in his lotus feet and speed up the recovery of the injured."

UP Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has also expressed grief over this accident. He said, "The loss of life in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao district is extremely sad. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The officials of the district administration and transport department have been instructed to provide proper treatment to all the injured. I pray to God for the peace of the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured."
