Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that due to 'overconfidence', BJP could not achieve the expected success in the Lok Sabha 2024 elections.
However, he expressed confidence in the party's victory in the 2027 assembly elections and said that 'Bharatiya Janata Party will win all the ten seats in the by-elections as well.
Yogi said that for this every worker will have to mobilize and work hard.
On Sunday, the BJP's state working committee meeting was held in Lucknow. It was the first meeting of the state working committee after the Lok Sabha elections.
BJP National President JP Nadda, several Union and State Ministers, MPs, MLAs and Lok Sabha candidates attended this meeting.
For the last few days, the government is also seen struggling with law and order and the opposition is cornering the Yogi government on every big and small issue.
By-elections are going to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh in the coming time.
Political pundits are considering the victory in the recent by-elections as a moral victory of the India Alliance, perhaps that is why in this meeting, all the leaders including BJP National President JP Nadda tried their best to boost the morale and enthusiasm of the workers in their speeches.
Yogi Adityanath said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modiji, we kept constant pressure on the opposition and achieved the expected success in Uttar Pradesh, whether it was the 2014, 2019 Lok Sabha elections or the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections. This time too, BJP has got the same number of votes as in the previous elections. But the change in votes and overconfidence harmed our hopes. Because of this, the opposition, which was defeated in the last elections, is boasting today."
After the Lok Sabha elections, BJP's priority is to save the fort of Uttar Pradesh. Here in the last decade, BJP has performed historically in the elections and the 2027 assembly elections will be a tough test.
Yogi said, "Uttar Pradesh has got a new identity, which was earlier the sixth largest economy, today it is the second largest economy of the country and the respect of the state has increased."
He reminded the workers, "Remember that if there is Bharatiya Janata Party, then we also have a mayor in the district, there is also a district panchayat president, there is also a block pramukh, chairman and councilor."
Yogi also targeted the opposition and accused it of dividing the society on the basis of caste. He also stressed the need to use social media platforms effectively.
He said, "Opposition parties successfully used social media to conspire against us. BJP workers will have to keep an eye on social media, respond to rumors immediately and show the party's respect towards the leaders of Scheduled Castes."
JP Nadda mentions several alleged scams
Without naming the Samajwadi Party, JP Nadda mentioned several alleged scams and promised a clean administration under the BJP rule.
He said, "Congress failed to win even a single seat in 13 states. In Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where Congress had a direct contest with BJP on 64 seats, they got only two seats."
Nadda accused the Congress of weakening the Constitution and democratic values.
He also mentioned this because during the general elections, when the BJP gave the slogan of crossing 400, the opposition parties propagated that the Constitution was in danger.
