AAP Celebrates Bail to Manish Sisodia: What Atishi, Sunita Kejriwal, Swati Maliwal Said? What BJP said?

The Supreme Court has granted bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. This has sparked strong reactions from his colleagues in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Sisodia, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 last year and subsequently by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 9, has spent 17 months in jail.

Emotional Response from Atishi

Delhi's Education Minister, Atishi, became emotional during a press conference held on Friday. She highlighted the symbolic timing of the bail, noting, "Manish Sisodia ji got bail on the same day when the school whose foundation stone he had laid is being inaugurated. We will raise a big slogan in his name."

Atishi emphasized Sisodia’s contributions to Delhi’s education sector, saying, "Why was Manish ji put in jail? He was put in jail because he was providing good education to the poor children of Delhi. He was such an Education Minister and Deputy Chief Minister who dedicated 25 percent of Delhi's budget to the children of Delhi." She further added, "He was an Education Minister who changed the future of the children of Delhi."

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal wrote on Instagram, "Bhagwan ke ghar der hai andher nahi."

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took to social media to express their satisfaction with the court's decision. In a statement on Instagram, the party wrote, "Satyamev Jayate. Delhiites' prayers were successful, breaking the web of all lies and conspiracies, the father of education revolution Manish Sisodia will come out of jail after 1.5 years."

Swati Maliwal, Sanjay Singh react

AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal shared her happiness on Instagram, stating, "Very happy with Manish ji's bail. Hopefully now he will take the lead and take the government in the right direction."

MP Sanjay Singh also addressed the media, proclaiming, "Truth has won. I had already said that there was no truth in this case. Our leaders were forcibly kept in jail."

Singh further said, "Manish Sisodia was kept in jail for 17 months. Will the Prime Minister of India and the Bharatiya Janata Party give an account of these 17 months of his life?"

Singh expressed his gratitude towards the judiciary, saying, "Thanks to the Supreme Court that after a long wait, justice was delivered. The decision came in favor of Aam Aadmi Party and Manish Sisodia. Every citizen of Delhi is happy with this decision."

He also expressed hope for the release of other AAP leaders, Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendra Jain, who are still in jail, adding, "Today's decision is a strong slap on the dictatorship of the Center."

BJP's Response to SC's Decision

On the other side, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reacted to the Supreme Court's decision with caution. BJP's National General Secretary Dushyant Kumar Gautam,  stated, "Getting bail does not mean acquittal. He is still an accused." Gautam further warned against celebrating the bail as a victory, asserting, "He (Manish Sisodia) will be punished for this. There is no need to get excited and mislead the country, Delhi, and the court."
