Madhya Pradesh: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Monday inaugurated the world's largest Rakshabandhan festival 'Narela Rakshabandhan Mahotsav' from Bhopal's Ektapuri Dussehra Ground. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, thousands of sisters tied Raksha Sutra on the wrist of their brother Vishwas.
On the first day, about 14 thousand 364 sisters participated in the Narela Rakshabandhan Mahotsav. Songs of Sawan were organized. Mehndi and bangle makeup stalls were also set up for sisters at the venue.
This was the first time in this grand event organized on the occasion of Rakshabandhan in the last 15 years when sisters tied Raksha Sutra to Minister Sarang on the day of Rakshabandhan itself. On this occasion, Bhopal Mayor Malti Rai, local public representatives, dignitaries and a large number of women from the area were present.
This is not Narela Vidhan Sabha, but Narela family
Sarang said that he has never seen Narela area from a political point of view but has always considered it as his family. 'Narela Rakshabandhan Mahotsav' is the most grand festival of Narela Vidhan Sabha. Every year more than 1 lakh sisters tie Raksha-Sutra and give their love and blessings. This Rakshabandhan Mahotsav is an indelible example of Sanatan culture.
Rakhi tied by all the sisters
On the first day of Narela Rakshabandhan Mahotsav, thousands of sisters reached Ektapuri Dussehra Ground, Ward 38 of Narela Vidhan Sabha to tie Rakhi. Sisters queued up themselves in the ceremony and waited for their turn and tied Rakhi to their brother Vishwas Sarang. Elderly sisters tied Raksha-Sutra and blessed Minister Shri Sarang by placing their hand on his head.
Last year's record could be broken
Narela Rakshabandhan Mahotsav is being organized in Narela Vidhan Sabha on the occasion of Rakshabandhan for the last 15 years. Last year, about 1 lakh 41 thousand 324 sisters tied Raksha Sutra to Minister Shri Sarang. This time also, more than 1 lakh sisters are expected to participate.
Sarang visited Shri Khedaapati Hanuman temple before the inauguration
Before the inauguration of Narela Raksha Bandhan Mahotsav, Sarang visited the ancient Shri Khedaapati Hanuman temple located in Chhola and wished for everyone's happiness and prosperity. Here too, the sisters tied Raksha Sutra to Minister Shri Sarang.
Residents accorded a grand welcome
On reaching the Narela Raksha Bandhan Mahotsav venue, the residents of the area gave a grand welcome to Vishwas Sarang. Here, Minister Sarang was taken to the main event venue in a buggy with DJ and drums and tasha. On this occasion, fireworks were also done.
On arrival at the main event venue, the sisters showered flowers on Minister Sarang and gave him a warm welcome. Minister Sarang distributed wallets and Aarti collection to the sisters as gifts. Radha Krishna were seen performing Raas on the devotional song of singer Sunil Shukravaare and the sisters danced with joy.
Mahotsav will be held in Ward 78 and 59 on 22nd August
Rakshabandhan Mahotsav has been organized on 22nd August at 12 noon in Ward 78 Prasun Park and at 2 pm in Ward 59 Branch Ground. Here also thousands of sisters have registered online and offline to tie Raksha Sutra to Minister Sarang.
