MP: 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor to reduce travel time between Agra and Gwalior by 50 percent, these are other benefits


Bhopal:  Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the approval granted by the Union Cabinet to the 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor project. 


CM said, “As a centrally located state, the 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor project for Madhya Pradesh will strengthen the infrastructure of the state and also provide economic benefits. The project is an important step towards giving new dimensions to the country’s infrastructure under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. The project aims to strengthen the national transport infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.”


The Union Cabinet has approved 8 important National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects of 936 km length at a total capital cost of Rs 50,655 crore to improve logistics efficiency, reduce congestion, and enhance connectivity across the country.


Traffic capacity will more than double


The 88 km 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor will be developed on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) mode with a total capital cost of Rs 4,613 crore. The project will reduce the travel time between Agra and Gwalior by 50 percent and help in increasing the traffic capacity of the existing 4-lane National Highway by more than 2 times. This corridor will also increase connectivity with major tourist destinations of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.


Huge benefits for Madhya Pradesh


This initiative will significantly enhance logistics efficiency, reduce congestion and improve connectivity across the country. This will also boost economic growth and make travel and trade between different regions of the country easy.
