India has lost to Germany in the semi-final match of men's hockey in Paris Olympics. By half time, the Indian team was trailing Germany by a margin of 1-2.
But India made a comeback and equalized with Germany 2-2 by the third quarter. However, in the fourth quarter, Germany scored another goal to take a 3-2 lead and got a ticket to the final.
Skipper Harmanpreet Singh (7th) and Sukhjeet Singh (36th) scored for India, while Gonzalo Peillat (18th), Christopher Ruhr (27th) and Marco Miltkau (54th) were the scorers for Germany.
The team that loses this match will be out of the gold and silver medal race but it will still have a chance to win the bronze medal. India will now face Spain in the Olympics bronze medal match.
The Indian team was also the bronze medal winner in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. Earlier, India had made it to the Olympic finals in 1980.
