After finishing his Poland tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Ukraine today i.e. on Friday. Ukraine's 'National Flag Day' is also celebrated on Friday.
This is PM Narendra Modi's first visit to Ukraine after the war between Russia and Ukraine started. About one and a half months before this visit, he had also visited Russia.
We believe in Buddha, not in 'Yuddha'
In the first leg of foreign visit, PM Modi had reached Poland. Addressing Indians in Poland's capital Warsaw, he said that we are people who believe in Buddha, we do not believe in 'Yuddha' (war).
He said that India is also a big advocate of peace in this region. Our viewpoint is clear that this is not the era of war.
In his visit to Russia, he said that India has been and will remain a supporter of peaceful solution to the war. Along with this, he also said that India is ready to help in this effort.
Before the Ukraine tour, PM Modi said - the battlefield is not the solution to any problem
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk before leaving for the Ukraine tour.
'No problem can be solved on the battlefield'
In a statement after this conversation, he said, "We believe that no problem can be solved on the battlefield."
PM Modi said that we are ready to cooperate in every possible way to establish peace in this region.
He said that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and West Asia is a matter of deep concern for all of us.
According to the PM, "In any crisis, the loss of innocent lives has become the biggest challenge for the entire humanity."
He also said, "We support dialogue and diplomacy to establish peace and stability. For this, India is ready to provide all possible assistance along with its friendly countries."
Narendra Modi will reach Ukraine from Poland by train. During his visit, he will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
