On the fourth Monday of the holy month of Sawan, a large number of pilgrims gathered at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, to take a sacred dip in the Ganga. Mahant Digambar Swami Vishwaeshwar Puri Maharaj, the chief priest of the Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple, shares insights into the temple's profound history. According to him, the Daksheshwar Mahadev Temple, located in Kankhal, was established during Satyuga, at the very inception of the universe. Lord Shiva, honoring a promise made to his in-laws, resides in this temple for a month every year, adding to its sacred importance.

According to Krishna Kumar Shastri, the priest of Daridra Bhanjan Temple, offering water to Lord Shiva for 40 consecutive days during the month of Sawan leads to the fulfillment of all wishes. This ancient temple is revered for its power to grant the desires of any devotee who anoints Lord Shiva with true devotion.
