Indian wrestler Aman Sehrawat has won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 57 kg weight category at the Paris Olympics-2024.
Reflecting on his achievement, Aman expressed, "I am feeling great today; I can hardly believe it. It will take me three to four days to fully grasp that I have won an Olympic medal."
He shared his strategy, stating, "I came in with the mindset of not giving away points in the first two to four minutes. However, in the semi-finals, I found myself trailing by four points right from the start, which made it challenging to score. With the entire country watching the Olympics, I was unsure of how to proceed."
Aman has said that 'I was also under pressure that I am the only male wrestler. It would have been better if there were two-three more but I had decided that now I have to bring a medal.'
'A tribute to his parents'
On Aman winning the bronze medal, his uncle (late father's elder brother) Sudhir said that we had it in our mind that he would bring the gold medal, but he missed it narrowly.
He said that Aman has brought a medal for the country. We pray that he brings the gold medal next time.
Sudhir said, "Aman's parents passed away in his childhood. Aman's life has been full of struggles and hardships."
He said, "Aman lost his parents at the age of 10. Aman has brought the Olympic medal to pay tribute to his parents."
PM greets
PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi, President Murmu and others have congratulated Aman on winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics.
