Bihar's Rural Works Minister Ashok Choudhary had written a post on social media two days ago, after which many speculations were being made.
After Choudhary's post, it was believed that all is not well within the Janata Dal United. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made Ashok Chaudhary the national general secretary of the party.
JDU's national general secretary and MLC Afaq Ahmed Khan issued a letter saying, "JDU's national president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has appointed state government minister Ashok Choudhary as the party's national general secretary with immediate effect."
Ashok Choudhary is considered close to Nitish Kumar and belongs to the Dalit community. However, there were strong rumours in the state that Ashok Choudhary was upset with the appointment of Shyam Rajak, another Dalit leader who had recently joined from the state's opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), as the JDU national general secretary.
