The Madhya Pradesh government is set to introduce "Vande Metro" projects in the state's urban areas to improve public transport facilities, according to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. During a review meeting focused on ongoing development projects in Indore, Yadav highlighted that the current metro rail operates at a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour, while the Vande Metro can reach speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour.
Ujjain will be connected by metro rail ahead of Simhastha
CM Yadav also confirmed that Ujjain will be connected with Indore by metro rail ahead of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela in 2028. The Chief Minister announced plans to expedite the construction of the Indore metro project, which will include the development of elevated roads to alleviate the city's traffic challenges. Additionally, the state government is making swift progress toward establishing a metropolitan authority that will encompass parts of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, and Dhar districts.
"We have prepared a blueprint to form metropolitan authorities in four cities. However, the best feasibility report has come for Indore and Ujjain. Authorities will also be established in the remaining metropolitan areas," he stated.
Special action plan for the development of 29 villages
In the meeting chaired by CM Dr. Yadav, it was decided that an action plan would be developed for the comprehensive growth of the proposed Indore Metropolitan Area and the Indore Regional Development Area. The CM said that 29 villages were added to the limits of Indore Municipal Corporation in the year 2012. Public representatives have given different suggestions for providing drinking water, roads, sewage and other basic facilities in these villages.
he CM instructed the preparation of a special action plan for the development of 29 villages within the Indore Municipal Corporation limits, with a one-month deadline for completion. Furthermore, it was decided to construct six additional bridges at key junctions in Indore city instead of the previously proposed elevated bridge from LIG to Navlakha.
