The Modi government has now taken a big step in the laddu controversy related to the Tirupati temple. On Monday (September 23, 2024), the Ministry of Health has served a show cause notice to the company supplying ghee.
The Union ministry had taken samples from four companies in this matter, out of which the sample of one company failed the quality test and it was revealed to contain animal fat.
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had made serious allegations against the government of former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy of the state. He alleged that the laddus used for prasad in Tirupati contained animal fat. In support of these allegations of Naidu, the TDP government presented the report of a lab in Gujarat. This report confirmed the presence of fat in the laddus.
Purification puja held
Meanwhile, a four-hour purification ritual was held out at Tirupati temple on Monday through 'Panchgavya Prakshalana'. This happened after allegations of alleged adulteration of animal fat, beef tallow and fish oil in the preparation of laddu prasad at the temple.
Since this controversy, there has been an uproar in the whole country. However, despite these allegations, there has been no decline in the faith of the people. Hundreds of devotees also reached the purification puja on Monday.
