Baba Siddique Laid to Rest; Salman Khan, Pooja Bhatt pay their respects

In a solemn ceremony, the former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui was laid to rest at Bada Kabristan in Marine Lines, Mumbai. The funeral, marked by heavy rains, witnessed emotional scenes as Siddique's son, Zeeshan Siddiqui, was seen in deep grief, crying uncontrollably. The former minister was shot dead late on Saturday night by attackers associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in the Bandra area of Mumbai.

Bollywood icon Salman Khan, who shared a close bond with Siddique, has reached the late politician’s house, ahead of the funeral. Salman appeared visibly emotional as he walked in, accompanied by his brother Sohail Khan and sister Arpita Khan. Many other Bollywood celebrities, including Pooja Bhatt and Sajid Nadiadwala, were spotted arriving to pay their respects to the three-time MLA and former Maharashtra minister.

In photos that have since gone viral, a heartbroken Salman can be seen arriving at Siddique’s house. Salman’s rumoured partner, Iulia Vantur, and the Bollywood actor’s sister Alvira Agnihotri were also spotted among the many celebrities.

Political Uproar Following Siddique's Assassination

The assassination of Baba Siddique has sent shock waves through Maharashtra's political landscape. His murder has raised concerns about law and order, with many questioning the effectiveness of the security apparatus in place. Siddiqui, a prominent political figure, had been provided with 'Y category' security, a designation reserved for individuals deemed to have a higher security risk.

Despite this protection, the attackers were able to approach and fatally shoot him, leaving many in Mumbai bewildered as to how such a brazen attack could occur. On social media, citizens are expressing their outrage and confusion, demanding answers from law enforcement and security agencies about how Siddiqui's attackers were able to bypass his security detail so easily.

Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for Siddiqui’s murder, with reports suggesting that the motive was linked to his friendship with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. This revelation has only added to the complexity of the case, intensifying the challenges faced by the Mumbai Police as they investigate the high-profile killing.

For the security agencies, the central question remains: How did this attack go unnoticed, and how did the assailants manage to carry out such a deadly assault despite the security measures in place? As public scrutiny mounts, pressure is growing on the authorities to provide answers and ensure accountability.
