There has been a dispute between the Uttar Pradesh government and the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadavover paying tribute to the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) in Lucknow.
Akhilesh Yadav had reached Jayaprakash Narayan International Center (JPNIC) on the occasion of Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary, but the administration did not allow him to garland.
The administration also put up barricades around Akhilesh Yadav's house to stop him, after which Samajwadi Party workers started gathering outside Akhilesh's house and started sloganeering against the government.
Akhilesh Yadav garlanded JP's statue outside his house, but could not go to JPINC.
The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh alleged that the government wants to hide something, due to which he is being stopped.
He also wrote a post about this on the social media platform 'X'.
In his post, Akhilesh Yadav wrote, "Be it BJP people or their government, their every work is a symbol of negativity. Like last time, barricading has been done around our private residence to stop Samajwadi people from going to garland the statue of 'Jayaprakash Narayan ji' on his birth anniversary."
The administration had tried to stop Akhilesh Yadav on the occasion of Jayaprakash Narayan Jayanti last time too, but at that time he jumped over the wall and went inside JPNIC.
But this time the administration put up a tin shed at the entrance to stop Akhilesh.
Akhilesh Yadav had gone to JPNIC on Thursday and he had objected to the installation of a tin shed.
However, the administration is saying that construction is going on there, so it is not right to go there in view of security. Its construction started during Akhilesh's government.
Govt wants to sell JPNIC
At the same time, Akhilesh said all this is being done at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and alleged that the government wants to sell JPNIC and that is why he has been stopped from going there.
Akhilesh termed it as murder of democracy and placed the statue of JP kept in his house on the road and garlanded it. On this occasion, he said that the current government is also running due to the socialists.
Akhilesh urges Nitish Kumar to withdraw support from NDA
Akhilesh said that former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should withdraw support from NDA because he too has emerged from the JP movement and he too has full faith in Jayaprakash Narayan.
He said that the memorial in JPNIC has been covered due to a conspiracy to sell it. Imagine, there is a government that wants to sell a museum.
