Hunger strike of junior doctors: IMA writes to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, what demand did it make?

Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the hunger strike of junior doctors in West Bengal.

IMA has written in its letter, "More than a week has passed since the young doctors of West Bengal have been on hunger strike. Indian Medical Association fully supports their legitimate demands."

IMA wrote in its letter that the junior doctors of the state deserve your immediate attention. The West Bengal government is capable of fulfilling all the demands of these doctors.

IMA said that the demand for a peaceful environment and security is not a very big demand. Rather it is necessary.

IMA appealed to CM Mamata Banerjee and said, "We appeal to you as the head of the government to listen to these young doctors and resolve their issues. The entire medical community of India is worried and we are confident that you will save their lives.''

''The Indian Medical Association is ready to help you in every possible way in this step.''

Some junior doctors are still on hunger strike in the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital and Medical College.

However, before this, CM Mamata Banerjee had met the junior doctors and had also accepted some of their demands. She had agreed to remove the Kolkata Police Commissioner.

But Mamata Banerjee had refused to remove Narayan Swaroop Nigam, Chief Secretary of the Health Department.
