Hezbollah has executed a drone attack on the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, his hometown, on Saturday. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has confirmed that neither Netanyahu nor his wife, Sara, were present during the incident, which resulted in no reported casualties.
3 drones were launched
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that three drones were launched from Lebanon, with one crashing into a building in Caesarea. The remaining two drones were intercepted, triggering alarm systems at the Gilot military base. The IDF is currently investigating the drone incursions.
This attack is part of a broader escalation, as drone and rocket strikes from Lebanon have been targeting various locations in Israel, including Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee, since Saturday morning. Although rockets landed in the Sea of Galilee, there were no injuries reported. Sirens warning of drone attacks were also activated in Tel Aviv and surrounding northern areas.
Hamas will persist despite the loss: Khamenei
Additionally, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has made his first public statement following the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in an Israeli operation. Khamenei emphasized that Hamas will persist despite the loss, referencing the resilience of the group following the deaths of previous leaders. He reaffirmed Iran's support for Palestinian fighters in his address to a large gathering in a mosque in Iran on October 4.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also honored Sinwar, calling him a martyr who fought valiantly for his land and showed courage until the end.
