There are reports that two days after the announcement of the election dates by the Election Commission, BJP will release the list of its 60 candidates.
In Maharashtra, there is a contest between Ajit Pawar's NCP, BJP and Shiv Sena's alliance Mahayuti and Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance Mahavikas Aghadi.
On the other hand, in Jharkhand, the main contest is between India Alliance and NDA.

Apart from this, the Election Commission is also likely to announce the dates for the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. It is likely that the elections will be held in the second week of November, so that there is no disruption during the upcoming festivals like Diwali, Chhath and Dev Deepawali.
