Haryana: Nayab Singh Saini Gave This Assurance to Farmers Ahead of Oath Taking Ceremony

In the wake of the Haryana BJP's recent electoral victory, all eyes are now on the appointment of the state's Chief Minister. The people of Haryana are eagerly awaiting the oath-taking ceremony, and the political atmosphere is charged with anticipation. On Friday, October 11, Nayab Singh Saini, the CM-elect, took a proactive step by visiting the farmers in Kurukshetra, signaling his commitment to the state's agrarian community.

During his visit to the Pipli grain market, Saini closely examined the ongoing paddy procurement process. He took the opportunity to engage with the farmers, many of whom expressed their concerns about the deductions being made during paddy purchases.

Farmers Express Concerns Over Paddy Purchase Deductions

During the visit, farmers conveyed to Saini that a cut of ₹200 was being imposed on the purchase price of paddy due to moisture content. This deduction was causing financial loss to the farmers. After listening to their grievances, Saini personally tested the moisture levels in the paddy using a machine to assess the situation. He explained that the moisture detected in the paddy was likely due to weather conditions, as dew and humidity are more prevalent in the late evening and early morning hours.

Despite acknowledging the presence of moisture, Saini assured the farmers that they would not be subjected to unnecessary financial losses. He pledged that the state government would purchase their entire yield, ensuring that no grain would go unsold.

CM's Commitment to Farmers' Welfare

Following his interaction with the farmers, Nayab Singh Saini addressed the media, reaffirming his dedication to supporting the agricultural sector in Haryana. He emphasized that all newly elected MLAs were conducting similar visits to grain markets across the state to ensure smooth and transparent transactions. Saini revealed that so far, 5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had already been purchased in Haryana's mandis (markets), signaling the state's active engagement in supporting farmers.

"Our government is committed to protecting the interests of farmers. We will ensure that no farmer faces difficulties in selling their crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). If any farmer encounters issues, it becomes the responsibility of the officials to resolve them promptly," Saini said.

He reiterated that every grain of paddy would be bought by the government, urging farmers not to worry. The CM's assurance comes at a critical time, as the paddy procurement season is in full swing, and any disruptions could have a significant impact on the livelihoods of farmers across the state.

Party Leaders and Officials Accompany Saini

Nayab Singh Saini was accompanied by several prominent political figures and party members during his visit. These included former minister Subhash Sudha, Jai Bhagwan Sharma, Dharamveer Mirzapur, and District President Sushil Rana.

It is noteworthy that just a day before this visit, farmers had staged a protest in Kurukshetra, expressing their discontent with the deductions being made during paddy procurement. The protest was called off after the CM's assurance that their issues would be addressed. True to his word, Saini visited the site in person and directed officials to resolve the farmers' problems as quickly as possible.
