After the ‘Kharna’ ritual in Bhopal on Wednesday, Chhath devotees will offer ‘Arghya’ to the setting sun at the ghat on Thursday. The Bhojpuri Utsav Samiti Khatlapura is preparing for a grand Chhath Puja at Khatlapura, the oldest Chhath ghat in Bhopal city. On this occasion, the Samiti has arranged for a 'Deepdaan' (lamp offering) and a light-based firework display.
For cultural programs, famous Bhojpuri singer Sonu Pandey from Bihar and Bhojpuri singer Ujala Vishwakarma from Varanasi will be performing.
Samiti president Rahul Dubey and secretary Pankaj Thakur stated that cultural programs will take place on both November 7 and 8, and on November 8, the Samiti has arranged for tea for the devotees for Paran (breaking of the fast).
On this occasion, the book ‘Chhath - Worshipping the Sun and Celebrating the nature’ by Bhojpuri society's daughter, Miss Ekisha Singh, will be launched by the guests on November 7.
All arrangements for the puja at the ghat have been completed, and with the help of the Municipal Corporation, changing rooms have also been arranged. Proper arrangements for lighting, sound, and security have also been made.
