Future Skills and Tech Advancements Highlighted at Joint Training Program by NITTTR Bhopal and CPSC Manila

NITTTR Bhopal and CPSC Manila started a 5-day joint international training program on the topic "Empowering Technical, Vocational Education and Training: An Initiative on Future Skills and Emerging Technologies" in which participants from 16 countries are attending.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural session Dr. K.K. Shukla, Director, MANIT, Bhopal said that today practical knowledge is more important than theoretical knowledge. Practical knowledge makes a person aware of those situations and challenges, which cannot be understood only from books or theories. Today students publish research papers in big journals but many times forget to learn small skills.

The Director of NITTTR Bhopal Prof. C.C Tripathi said that vocational education has been given importance at every level in the National Education Policy. Today there is a greater need for skilled manpower in the country.

Tripathi said today the importance of vocational education has increased a lot due to many reasons, including increasing employment opportunities for students, contributing to the economic development of the country, promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship, preparing for future employment changes, as an alternative to traditional education, global demand for skills, etc. A lot of work has been done in this direction in India in the last 10 years.

Dr. S.K. Dhameja, Director General, CPSC, Manila, said that there is a significant change in the way of education around the world; teachers also have to improve their skills and efficiency. Today, problem-based learning is more relevant than traditional teaching.

Dr. Keshavan Ulaganathan of Manila and the program coordinator Dr. Rajesh Khambayat provided a detailed outline of the 5-day program and the program was conducted by Mrs. Anita Lala.
