Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, India's leading singing reality show, continues to enthral audiences with its perfect blend of talent, entertainment, and inspiration. The latest shoot of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa also witnessed an extraordinary moment when contestant Maharshi Sanat Pandya paid tribute to the golden era of Bollywood by performing the timeless classics Teri Aankhon Ke Siva and Tumne Mujhe Dekha Hokar Meherban.
The performance left everyone mesmerized, especially the legendary actress Asha Parekh, who graced the show as a special guest. Moved by the soulful rendition, Asha took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing delightful anecdotes about her rapport with the late Shammi Kapoor, her co-star in Teesri Manzil. On asking about her favourite co-star, this what she had to say.
'He was like family to me'
Asha Parekh said, "It is difficult to pick a favorite co-star, but working with Shammi Ji was always a unique experience. He was more than just a colleague; he was like family to me, as I fondly called him ‘Chachu.’ Naturally, our rapport made working together much easier. His style was so distinctive and the best part was that when a song was being picturized, it felt as if music coursed through his entire body.
Asha Parekh said further, “We didn’t have a dance master for our sequences at all; we choreographed everything ourselves. He would say, ‘You do this,’ and I would respond, ‘I’ll do that,’ and the steps would just flow seamlessly. His energy was infectious, and that made our performances truly memorable."
While the audience was captivated by this anecdote from Bollywood's golden era, the episode will be a memorable celebration of music and cinema that you absolutely cannot miss! In fact, the unforgettable performances in the upcoming episodes will surely keep you hooked.
