NCP's Sana Malik has won the Anushakti Nagar seat in Maharashtra. She defeated NCP Sharad Pawar faction candidate and Swara Bhaskar's husband Fahad Ahmed on this seat. In fact, Nawab Malik, who won from NCP last time, did not contest from this seat.
When Ajit Pawar got this seat in the seat sharing in Mahayuti, he bet on Nawab Malik's daughter Sana Malik. On the other hand, when Sharad Pawar got this seat in Mahavikas Aghadi, he surprised everyone by fielding Samajwadi Party leader Fahad Ahmed. A total of nine candidates contested in this election.
Fahad Ahmad joined the Samajwadi Party in July 2022 and also took over the responsibility as the president of the party's youth wing.
Then in October this year, Fahad resigned from the Samajwadi Party and joined Sharad Pawar's NCP.
Elections were held on 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra. The majority figure is 145. The latest trends show that the Mahayuti alliance is leading in 218 seats. While the MVA alliance is leading in 55 seats.
