Promote Positive Messaging over Divisive Language, says Sachin Pilot in Bhopal, What He Said about 'Banteng to Kateng' Remark

Bhopal: During his visit to Bhopal on Thursday, former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot made a strong appeal for more constructive public discourse. Criticizing the divisive rhetoric used by senior BJP leaders, Sachin Pilot emphasized the need for leaders in responsible positions to inspire youth with positive, unifying messages rather than language that divides society.

Accompanied by Congress state president Jitu Patwari and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha, Pilot addressed reporters, highlighting his concerns about the tone of political discourse. He questioned the appropriateness of recent statements by prominent BJP figures, specifically referencing the language used by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who remarked, “Banteng to Kateng” (a phrase implying forceful division).

According to Pilot, such language is out of place in a civilized society and alienates sensible citizens who value unity and progress.

Sachin Pilot reiterated that the Congress Party prioritizes positive language and values-driven communication, especially when addressing the youth. He noted that divisive language undermines social harmony, contrasting it with the Congress Party's aim of fostering values and cohesion among the next generation.

Pilot slams Centre over budget allocations to states

Sachin Pilot also took the opportunity to criticize the central government's approach following the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. He argued that the BJP’s earlier claim of “Abki Baar, 400 Paar” has not translated into stable governance. According to Pilot, the government has had to rely on political alliances, which has weakened its position. He further highlighted the efforts of Rahul Gandhi, now Leader of the Opposition, in holding the government accountable. Pilot asserted that Congress's interventions have led to the retraction of several proposed bills.

Additionally, Sachin Pilot voiced concerns about budget allocations, questioning the apparent disparity in resources given to different states. He pointed out that while states like Bihar and Andhra Pradesh received substantial funds, states like Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have not seen similar benefits due to political compulsions.

What Pilot said about MP Govt?

Extending his critique to the Madhya Pradesh government, Pilot expressed dissatisfaction with its performance. He claimed that the government has not lived up to the expectations of its voters, emphasizing that many promises remain unfulfilled.

According to Pilot, the state government’s focus has been skewed toward consolidating power and benefiting a few, rather than genuinely addressing the needs of the people. He accused the government of fostering a “syndicate” that is primarily interested in property acquisition and personal gain, rather than promoting inclusive development.

Pilot went on to state that development, especially in rural areas, has stagnated under the current administration, with most of the progress limited to media promotions and publicity campaigns. He also raised concerns about worsening law and order in the state, with influential groups allegedly controlling key areas, including the Bhopal Secretariat, where he claimed mafia-like syndicates wield significant power.

Pilot further alleged that multiple power centers within the state government have led to internal conflicts, causing governance issues that ultimately affect the citizens.

As part of his one-day visit, Pilot is set to campaign in the Vijaypur assembly constituency to support Congress candidate Mukesh Malhotra. He also paid homage to the legacy of former MP Tarachand Patel, attending a gathering in the Khargone district's Barwah constituency to unveil a statue in his honor.
