Canada-based pro-Khalistan leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu recently issued a threat to Ayodhya, warning of potential attacks on Hindu temples on November 16-17.
In a video message, Pannu made alarming statements about instigating bloodshed and pledged to "shake the foundation of Ayodhya." The threat has led to a swift and extensive security response in the region, transforming Ayodhya into a fortified zone.
Security personnel stationed at all main points
In response to Pannu’s threats, Ayodhya’s security apparatus has been significantly bolstered. The Ram Janmabhoomi complex, home to the revered Ram temple, is now under heavy guard, with armed security personnel stationed at all main points. Anti-terrorist squads have been deployed to counter any potential threat, and the entire Ram temple area has been placed under stringent security protocols.
Ayodhya Mayor Girish Tripathi shared his confidence in Ayodhya’s defenses, stating, “God protects Ayodhya, so no one can dare to attack here.”
Tripathi said that Ayodhya is already a high-security zone, with personnel trained to counter terrorist threats. Following Pannu’s threat, authorities conducted an additional review of the city’s security measures to ensure comprehensive preparedness.
Additional reinforcements from PAC, CRPF deployed
Security arrangements in Ayodhya now include extensive surveillance, with CCTV cameras and drones monitoring key locations around the city. Intelligence agencies, anti-terrorist squads, and bomb disposal teams are on high alert. Additional reinforcements from the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Uttar Pradesh police have been deployed to enhance security.
The increased presence of specialized security units highlights the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and preventing any disruptions in the historic city. With Pannu’s threats under scrutiny, officials continue to coordinate with various agencies to ensure Ayodhya’s safety during the sensitive period ahead.
