The BJP has responded following the resignation of Kailash Gehlot, the Transport Minister in the Delhi Government, from both his position and the party.
Delhi BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva addressed the media, stating, "Kailash Gehlot has directly confronted Arvind Kejriwal, indicating that Kejriwal and his associates are involved in exploiting the people of Delhi. Gehlot has chosen not to be associated with that."
Virendra Sachdeva stated, "Kailash Gehlot has highlighted how Arvind Kejriwal has misappropriated resources under the guise of Sheeshmahal, misusing the tax money of Delhi's residents. He also mentioned that Kejriwal has squandered the Rs 8,500 crore allocated by the Central Government for the cleaning of the Yamuna."
The Delhi BJP state president remarked, "Arvind Kejriwal's government has made things miserable in Delhi. Kailash Gehlot's decision to resign is a courageous move, and we commend it. Even within the Aam Aadmi Party, those who genuinely care about the future of Delhi may find it difficult to remain aligned with Arvind Kejriwal."
Gehlot made many allegations against AAP
Delhi government transport minister Kailash Gehlot has resigned from the ministerial post and primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party.
He submitted his resignation from the ministerial post to Delhi CM Atishi.
Galhot has written a letter addressed to Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and has announced his resignation in the same letter.
Addressing Kejriwal, Gehlot wrote, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the people as a minister and MLA of Delhi. But I want to tell you that Aam Aadmi Party is facing huge challenges today."
Kailash Gehlot wrote further, "Politics has overshadowed our commitment to the people, leading to many unfulfilled promises, such as the commitment to clean the Yamuna River."
He further wrote, "Now the Yamuna river is more polluted than before. Apart from this, there have been many shameful controversies. Like the Sheeshmahal controversy which created doubts in the mind of everyone who believed in the Aam Aadmi Party."
Gehlot, who was the Transport Minister of Delhi, wrote, "It is unfortunate that instead of addressing public issues, our focus has shifted solely to political agendas. It is now evident that the Aam Aadmi Party government cannot achieve genuine development for Delhi while spending the majority of its time in conflict with the central government."
Kailash Gehlot wrote in his resignation letter, "I started my political career with the commitment to serve the people of Delhi and I want to continue it. That is why I feel that staying away from Aam Aadmi Party is the last resort. I resign from the primary membership of Aam Aadmi Party. I wish you good health and future.”
