Azerbaijan Plane Crash: Did Russia Shoot Down Azerbaijan Airlines Flight?

Azerbaijan plane crash: On Sunday, 25 December, an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. The plane was going from Baku in Azerbaijan to Grozny in Russia. Initial investigations revealed that the plane crashed due to a bird hit. But now big things have come to the fore in this investigation. It is being claimed that Russia launched a missile attack on the plane. This caused the plane to fall to the ground and many people died.

In this accident, 38 out of 67 people died, while 29 people are injured. Those who survived also include two girls, aged 11 and 16 years.

Did Russia attack the plane?

The video of the crashed plane is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video it can be seen that there are many big holes in the plane. Regarding these holes, it is being claimed on the internet that Russia shot down the Azerbaijan flight. According to experts, holes and marks found in the fuselage of the plane indicate shrapnel damage caused by the missile.

Loud explosions were heard: Eyewitnesses

According to reports, passengers who survived claimed that loud explosions were heard outside the plane. According to Britain's Telegraph, these explosions may have been caused by the explosion of the plane's oxygen tank. A video shows a female passenger injured by shrapnel injury. The plane tried to return to Kazakhstan, but due to a technical fault, it crashed into a field 3 KM before Aktau Airport.

Black box recovered

The black box of the plane has been recovered. Flight data and voice recorder information will be analyzed from it. If the investigation confirms that the plane was shot down by a Russian missile, it will be the second time Russia or its allies have targeted a commercial jet. In 2014, Malaysian Airlines MH-17 was shot down by Russian-backed forces in Donbass.

We must wait for the results of the probe: Russia

Russia's Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, "We must wait for the results of the investigation." Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have also assured that the investigation will be fair and all the facts will be made public.

Azerbaijan declares national day of mourning

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev declared a national day of mourning over the accident. He also cancelled his official visit to Russia. He said, "I express my condolences to the families who have lost their people. I wish the injured a speedy recovery."
