Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged insult of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said that Congress will fight till the last breath for the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and the honor of Babasaheb.
He also said in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting that people's faith in the electoral process is gradually decreasing as questions are being raised on the impartiality of the Election Commission.
'2025 will be the year of empowerment of Cong'
The Congress President also said that the year 2025 will be the year of empowerment of the Congress organization and all the vacant posts will be filled and the resolution of 'Udaipur' will be fully implemented.
Referring to the speech of Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha, he said, "We heard the Home Minister's highly insulting statement about Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar during the discussion on the Constitution in the Parliament session. We objected, protested, demonstrated. Now protests are happening all over the country.”
'PM and his govt are not ready to accept the mistake'
Kharge claimed that Prime Minister Modi and his government are not ready to accept the mistake and far from taking an apology and resignation from Amit Shah, they supported the objectionable statement. He said that the Prime Minister issued a statement in defense of the Home Minister. A false case was registered against Rahul Gandhi. This is the attitude of today's rulers towards the Constitution and its creator. But we are not going to be afraid of anyone, nor are we going to bow down. We will fight till the last breath for the ideology of Nehru-Gandhi and the respect of Babasaheb.
The Congress President said, "BJP people falsely accuse us that we did not respect Babasaheb. Everyone knows that the statue of Babasaheb was installed in the Parliament by the Congress in 1967. Accepting the demand of thousands of workers like me, during Indira ji's tenure, President Dr. Radhakrishnan ji installed the first big statue of Babasaheb at the main place in the Parliament. That is why I say that BJP-RSS people should stop lying.
Congress's comeback plan
Kharge, while emphasizing the need to strengthen the party's organization, said that the year 2025 will be the year of our organization's empowerment. We will fill all the vacant posts in the organization. We will fully implement the 'Udaipur Sankalp'. We will equip our organization with the necessary skills to win elections from AICC to Mandal and booth.
Kharge said, "We need to identify people who are ideologically dedicated and willing to defend the Constitution, as well as those who embrace the Congress Party's vision of the 'Idea of India.' It is essential to engage these people with the party, integrating them into the mainstream and involving them in the organization's efforts."
'Only hard work is not enough'
Kharge said that only hard work is not enough, timely solid strategy and direction is necessary, there is a need to give chance to new power and there is also a need to raise local and new leadership. He said that in the journey of the last 140 years, Congress has seen many ups and downs. But even today, Congress is dedicated to the principles of Mahatma Gandhi in the light of his thoughts and stands firm on his principles.
