Badminton icon PV Sindhu to tie the nuptial knot, discover her future plans

Indian badminton icon PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist and former world champion, is set to marry Venkat Dutta Sai on December 22. Her fiancé is an executive director at Posidex Technologies and is based in Hyderabad. The couple’s wedding will be followed by a grand reception in Hyderabad on December 24.

Sindhu’s schedule will be extremely busy from Jan

Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, revealed that both families have known each other for a long time, but the wedding plans came together recently. “The arrangements were finalized only a month ago,” he shared. He also emphasized the timing, saying, “This was the only possible time because Sindhu’s schedule will be extremely busy from January.”

A Champion’s Journey

Widely regarded as one of India’s greatest badminton players, Sindhu boasts an illustrious career. She has claimed five medals at the BWF World Championships, including a gold in 2019. Sindhu’s Olympic achievements include a silver medal at Rio 2016 and a bronze at Tokyo 2020, making her the only Indian woman to win two consecutive Olympic medals in badminton. Her career-high world ranking of number two came in 2017.

Sindhu’s international breakthrough came in 2016 when she won her first Superseries title at the China Open. In 2017, she continued her success with victories in South Korea and India. She also became the first Indian player to win the prestigious BWF World Tour Finals in 2018.

Her Commonwealth Games record is equally impressive, with three consecutive singles medals, including gold in 2022, making her the reigning champion. Sindhu has also earned a silver medal at the Asian Games and two bronze medals at the Uber Cup.

Focus on the Future

Despite the personal milestone, Sindhu’s professional focus remains sharp. She will resume training shortly after the wedding, preparing for what her father described as a “crucial upcoming season.” Sindhu recently ended a title drought by winning the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, signaling a strong return to form.

As she prepares for the next chapter in both her personal and professional life, PV Sindhu continues to inspire millions with her dedication and achievements.
