On the 5th day of the International Van Mela in Bhopal, about 32 thousand people visited the Mela on Saturday. The operators of the stalls located in the fair premises are excited by such a large number of people. Herbal, forest produce products worth about 35 lakhs were sold in the Van Mela.
People enjoyed the dishes of the food stalls. On the one hand, the dishes being prepared by the college students kept attracting people. On the other hand, people kept flocking to relish the dal-paniya of Alirajpur.
More than 300 visitors received free medical consultation in the OPD of the fair. Free consultation was given by nealy 100 Ayurvedic physicians and experienced Vaidyas in the OPD, which will continue till the last day on 23 December.
An important objective of Van Mela is to provide a platform to the primary collectors involved in the collection of minor forest produce. To fulfil this objective, a one-day buyer-seller conference was held under the chief patronage of Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Managing Director, Minor Forest Produce Federation, Vibhas Kumar Thakur.
Complaints were also received about selling rings for black magic at some stalls, which were raided and seizure action was taken.
Colourful cultural presentations
A colourful presentation of dance (solo and group) continued in the fair premises from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. In this presentation, the children captivated the minds of the audience by giving their charming presentation.
More than 150 students from about 19 schools displayed their amazing art in the solo and group dance presentation organized in the fair. The students who performed best in the competition were awarded. From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, orchestra performance was given by "Mala Uike Musical Group". From 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, students of Manasarovar Ayurvedic College gave an attractive performance of Fiddle Craft.
