Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure paid a courtesy visit to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the CM's residence. During this, the Chief Minister said that the state of Uttarakhand is now emerging as a major film shooting destination. He said that enchanted by the natural beauty of the state, filmmakers are now coming here to shoot.
The Chief Minister further said that the new film policy of Uttarakhand is working to promote films in the state. Films based on Bollywood as well as local dialects are also being promoted. He informed that Uttarakhand Film Policy-2024 has been made to encourage film production in the state.
'Films will get grant'
The CM said that under this policy, films in Hindi and languages included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution will get a grant of 30 percent of the total amount spent in the state or a maximum of Rs 3 crore. Apart from this, foreign films and films with a budget of more than Rs 50 crore will also get grants.
The Uttarakhand Cabinet led by the Chief Minister has planned to increase the subsidy to promote local films in the state. The impact of this policy was that Uttarakhand has recently become a major shooting hub. A major part of Akshay Kumar's film 'Shankara' and Kajol and Kriti Sanon's 'Do Patti' have also been shot in the state.
'Today's generation needs to understand how important the environment is for us'
Actress Padmini Kolhapure recently attended the screening of the film 'Mali' based on environment and mental health in Dehradun. The film was shot at beautiful locations in Dehradun. After watching the film, Padmini said that "This film is made on a beautiful subject and it has been beautifully shot in your state Uttarakhand." She praised the film and said that today's generation needs to understand how important the environment is for us.
Padmini Kolhapure also thanked the audience who came to watch the film and said that if they do something for the environment after watching this film, the purpose of the film will be fulfilled. 'Mali' is produced by Padmini's husband Pradeep Sharma, and directed by Shiv Shetty and Sonali Rana. Local artists like Sujata Sharma and Anita Negi have also played important roles in this film.
