No Confidence Motion Against Jagdeep Dhankhar: The political temperature in the Rajya Sabha is intensifying during the winter session. The INDIA Block of opposition parties is now gearing up to bring a no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. According to the information, 70 MPs have signed this proposal so far.
It is being told that in view of the stance of Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar during the uproar on the issue of George Soros in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, the Congress is preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against him. Members of Congress and other opposition parties are said to be furious with Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar over the way there was an uproar in the Rajya Sabha on the issue related to Hungarian-American businessman George Soros on Monday.
Samajwadi Party (SP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) have also supported this. There was a discussion about introducing a motion to remove the Chairman from during the last monsoon session of Parliament; however, the opposition at that time decided to postpone it.
Cong MPs accused Dhankhar of bias
Even during the uproar in the House, from Digvijaya Singh to Rajiv Shukla, Congress MPs accused the Chairman of bias and questioned under which rule he started the discussion. Opposition members also objected to the fact that the Chairman took the names of BJP members and asking them to speak.

Process of no-confidence motion
The process of bringing a motion to remove the Chairman in the Rajya Sabha is very strict. It requires the signatures of at least 50 MPs. After the signatures, the motion is discussed and then passed by the majority of the members present. After the motion is passed in the Rajya Sabha, it has to be approved in the Lok Sabha as well. However, the winter session is to run till December 20 only.
Unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country is supreme: Dhankhar
Amidst the uproar, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said before adjourning the proceedings of the House, "The unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country is supreme. No force can weaken it. The opposition and the government should have full commitment towards nationalism."
The BJP has alleged that Sonia Gandhi has ties with organisations financed by George Soros's foundation. The saffron party claims that these entities have supported controversial stances, such as treating Kashmir as a separate entity.
Opposition leaders have dismissed the BJP's allegations. Congress MP Karti Chidambaram rejected the BJP's allegations, terming them "dark fantasies" that should be confined to the "dark web".
