Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh has called the media to visit the official residence of former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, which the BJP has claimed was converted into a Sheesh Mahal during Kejriwal's stay there.
Challenging the BJP's allegations on the Sheesh Mahal issue, AAP leader Sanjay Singh asked its leaders to come to the CM residence with the media on Wednesday i.e. today and prove their claims.
'PM lives in a palace'
Sanjay Singh alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi lives in a palace worth Rs 2,700 crore and openly challenged the BJP to get the media to visit it in a similar way. The Rajya Sabha MP alleged that the entire BJP, from the Prime Minister to his party members, is running a propaganda campaign about the Sheesh Mahal.
Arvind Kejriwal lived in a bungalow at 6 Flagstaff Road and the BJP calls it a Sheesh Mahal, alleging irregularities in its renovation and the presence of expensive furnishings and household items in it. The BJP has been targeting the Aam Aadmi Party over this. Kejriwal vacated this bungalow in October last year after leaving the post of Delhi CM.
Controversy comes at a critical time
The Sheesh Mahal controversy comes at a critical time as political campaigns gain momentum in Delhi. With AAP defending its record and BJP intensifying its attacks, the election battle is expected to be fierce.
Elections Schedule
Amidst the ongoing political tussle, Delhi gears up for its upcoming assembly elections. As per the Election Commission's schedule, voting will occur in a single phase on February 5, with results to be announced on February 8. The current term of the Delhi Assembly concludes on February 23.

In the previous elections, AAP won a landslide victory, securing 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed to win only eight. Other parties, including Congress, failed to secure any seats.
