There is anger among media persons over the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. His body was found in a septic tank. This septic tank is said to be of a contractor. 28-year-old Mukesh used to work for a local news channel. He had prepared a report on the irregularities in a road construction project. Since then Mukesh was getting threats.
Chandrakar had once freed CRPF jawans from the clutches of Maoists. Bijapur Police is also investigating whether there is any connection between the reporting done by Mukesh and his murder.
Mukesh Chandrakar is the one who played a key role in the release of CRPF jawans abducted by Maoists in the year 2021. There is anger in the journalism world due to his murder. However, in this entire case, Bijapur Police has arrested four accused. Among them is the main accused Ritesh Chandrakar.
Main accused Ritesh held from Delhi
The police are interrogating the suspects. It is said that the accused contractor Ritesh Chandrakar, who was absconding after the murder, has been arrested from Delhi. The police team has brought him from Delhi to Bijapur.
According to the information received from the police, there is a possibility of other accused also being involved in the journalist Mukesh Chandrakar murder case.
Was missing since January 1
Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar was missing since January 1. His mobile number was said to be switched off. In such a situation, Mukesh's elder brother Yukesh Chandrakar had lodged a missing report with the Bijapur police.
The Bijapur Superintendent of Police formed a team and started investigating the whole matter. The team included other officers along with Bijapur ASP Yuglandan York and Kotwali TI Durgesh Sharma. Regarding this whole matter, Bastar IG P. Sundarraj issued a press note on social media and said that the police is making every possible effort to trace journalist Mukesh Chandrakar as soon as possible.

CM gave instructions for strict action
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, State Congress President Deepak Baij and former CM Bhupesh Baghel have also expressed grief over the incident. CM Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed Bijapur Police to take strict action against all the accused of murder.
