Delhi Assembly Elections-2025: BJP Unveils Second List of Candidates; Kapil Mishra will contest from Karawal Nagar

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its second list of 29 candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections-2025, released on Saturday night. This list includes five women, two of whom belong to the Scheduled Castes (SC). Additionally, three leaders from the SC community are featured on the list.

Notably, Kapil Mishra will contest from the Karawal Nagar constituency. Earlier, on January 4, the party had released its first list of 29 candidates. Thus the party has announced a total of 58 candidates.

In the first list, seven leaders who had left the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to join the saffron party also received tickets from the BJP. The party retained many candidates from the last assembly elections, with 13 candidates being repeated and 16 receiving new nominations.

In contrast, the AAP has announced candidates for all 70 seats, releasing five lists from November 21 to December 20. The fifth list, released on December 20, included a change for the Mehrauli seat. Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj will now contest from Greater Kailash, while Satyendra Jain will contest from Shakur Basti.

Meanwhile, Congress has declared 48 candidates across three lists for the Delhi Assembly elections. The first list, released on December 12, included 21 names, followed by a second list of 26 candidates on December 24. Congress has nominated Farhad Suri for the Jangpura seat, where AAP's Manish Sisodia is also contesting, and Haji Mohammad Ishraq Khan is pitted against AAP's Gopal Rai from Babarpur.
