Madhya Pradesh: In support of women empowerment and self-reliance, the district administration in Gwalior has launched an inspiring initiative called "Shakti Didi." This program aims to provide employment opportunities to women who have faced neglect from their families or have lost their husbands prematurely. They will take on roles as fuel workers under the "Shakti Didi" initiative.
Petrol pump operators assured cooperation in this commendable initiative and said that they will also provide employment to other needy women as Shakti Didi at their petrol pumps. Recently, five women took up the charge of fuel delivery workers as 'Shakti Didi' at the five busiest petrol pumps of Gwalior city.
At the Vaishya & Mukherjee Petrol Pump located near Padav ROB in Gwalior, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Vivek Kumar handed over the responsibility of Shakti Didi to Mrs. Jayshree Haldar. Similarly, Additional Collector Mrs. Anju Arun Kumar welcomed Mrs. Rani Shakya at Sanskriti Petrol Pump New Collectorate.
Additional Collector Mr. Kumar Satyam welcomed Mrs. Preeti Majhi at Darshan Fuel Station Pinto Park and ADM T.N. Singh welcomed Mrs. Nisha Parihar at Sai Ram Petrol Pump Chetakpuri and handed over the responsibility of Shakti Didi to her. The duty period of Shakti Didi deployed as female fuel worker will be from 9 am to 5 pm.
Collector Mrs. Chauhan encouraged “Shakti Didi” Mrs. Meena Jatav of Suvidha Petrol Pump and said that she should discharge her responsibility with full confidence. The district administration will always be ready for cooperation. Along with this, your safety will also be taken care of with the help of police. On this occasion, she appealed to the city residents to respect and encourage Shakti Didi playing the role of fuel worker.
