Addressing Rohit Sharma's absence in the fifth Test, he praisd Sharma for taking responsibility. "He showed responsibility by going ahead of everyone," Gambhir said.

On the performance of the batsmen, Gambhir encouraged participation in domestic cricket, stressing the importance of fostering a positive environment in the dressing room. "To maintain a happy atmosphere," he remarked.

On speculations of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement, Gautam Gambhir said, "These guys are experienced players and they have a hunger for runs. They have to decide what is best for Indian cricket."

Gambhir praised Siraj and Bumrah and said, "Both the bowlers bowled well throughout the series, I have never seen such bowling in Indian cricket till date. Siraj has also supported Bumrah equally.
