Rahul Gandhi has reacted on the arrest of two student leaders involved in the protest against MPPSC in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. They were arrested on Wednesday.
The police has taken a tough stand on the protest outside the MPPSC office in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Radhe Jat and Prashant Kisanvanshi, who led the protest, were arrested and presented in the ACP court. FIRs were registered in Sanyogitaganj and Bhanwarkua police stations in connection with the protest against the announcement of fewer posts in the MPPSC recruitment process.
The protesters said 500 posts should have been announced, while the government has announced recruitment for only 158 posts. According to the police, there is a provision of punishment of less than 7 years in the case registered for the protest, so both the leaders could have been released on bail by giving a notice. However, the police arrested both of them and presented them in the court.
Big injustice: Rahul
Rahul wrote in a post on X, "After the recent incidents in UP and Bihar, now two students protesting against the irregularities in MPPSC in Madhya Pradesh have been put in jail. This occurred despite the Chief Minister meeting with the students in the past and assuring them that their demands would be taken into consideration."
Rahul Gandhi wrote in the post, "Failure in government recruitment is a big injustice. First of all, recruitment is not announced. When they do occur, exams are frequently not conducted on schedule. If exams are held, there are instances of paper leaks. Furthermore, when young students seek justice, their voices are often brutally crushed."
He reposted a post made from the official X handle of Congress. In this post, a picture of both the arrested people standing outside the jail has been shared.
Rahul Gandhi further wrote in his post, "We are with the students in their fight for their rights. We will not let the BJP suppress the voice of the rights of the youth of the country at any cost."
CM had met the students
Rahul Gandhi has also mentioned Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's meeting with the students in his post.
In fact, on December 23, information was given on the official X account of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh that he had met the students.
In this post made on X, it is written, "A delegation of MPPSC candidates met Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at Samatva Bhavan. During this, he said that the state government is considering the demands of the candidates with a positive and cooperative approach. Appropriate instructions have been given to resolve the demands of the delegation."
Jitu, Digvijaya also slam police action
Congress state president Jitu Patwari and former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh expressed displeasure over the arrest of both the student leaders by tweeting. Calling it a breach of promise by the government, Digvijaya Singh said that despite promising 500 recruitments, only 158 posts were announced. According to the information, Radhe Jat and Prashant Kisanvanshi were going to hold a meeting with the candidates at Bhanwarkua's DD Park to decide the future strategy. The police arrested them before the meeting.
