UP Cabinet Meeting in Prayagraj: New religious circuit will be created, Prayagraj & Chitrakoot to be developed on lines of SCR, see details



Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025: A meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet was held in the world's largest religious conference held in Teerthraj Prayagraj. 54 ministers of the state including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were present in this meeting. 


After the meeting was over, CM Yogi announced that a new religious circuit will be created by combining 7 districts in Uttar Pradesh. This religious circuit will include Prayagraj, Kashi, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur and Bhadohi districts.


After the meeting, the CM along with his 54 ministers left for holy dip in Sangam via steamer from Arail Ghat. During this, the CM and other members of the Council of Ministers fed salty snacks to migratory Siberian birds.


3 medical colleges would be established


CM Yogi announced that three medical colleges would be established in Hathras, Kasganj and Baghpat. He further added that 62 Industrial Training Institute and 5 centres of Innovation, invention and training will be established across the state.


Prayagraj and Chitrakoot to be developed on lines of State Capital Region


Apart from the religious circuit, another important decision has been taken. In which the proposal to develop Prayagraj and Chitrakoot on the lines of SCR (State Capital Region) has been approved. Municipal bonds of Prayagraj, Varanasi and Agra will be issued. With the help of Tata Technology, 62 government industrial training institutes of UP will be upgraded and 5 centers will be established.


Expressway will be constructed


The proposal approved during the Council of Ministers meeting supports the sustainable development of the entire region, including Prayagraj. It was said that, similar to the SCR area developed in Lucknow, Chitrakoot and Prayagraj will undergo joint development. Additionally, an expressway connecting Prayagraj, Vindhyachal, and Kashi will be constructed. The cabinet has also granted approval for a four-lane bridge in Prayagraj.
