New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot has said that in the last 10 years, neither the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre nor the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi cared about the national capital. According to Pilot, the Congress election symbol, the 'hand,' remains a symbol of trust for people across castes, communities, and religions.
AAP, BJP fighting for supremacy
The Congress general secretary addressed a public meeting in Madipur area of west Delhi. Pilot said that for the last 10 years we have seen both the parties BJP and AAP saying and issuing assurances in their speeches, while in reality, they were fighting for supremacy. They spent the whole time in allegations and counter-allegations. Pilot alleged that apart from insulting each other, neither the central government nor the Delhi government have done anything for the people.
Pilot said, "Everyone has faith in the guarantee of Congress. The people of Delhi are ready to press the button on the hand symbol.'
Pilot said that the condition of Delhi is in front of everyone where mountains of garbage have been created and pollution has increased tremendously.
Congress’s Push for a Comeback
The Congress party, which has struggled in Delhi's assembly elections over the past decade, is making a strong effort to stage a comeback. In the last two elections, the party failed to win even a single seat. However, this time, the Congress has deployed its star leaders and mounted an aggressive campaign in the hope of causing an electoral upset.
While the party initially gained momentum, it appears to be facing challenges due to Rahul Gandhi's absence from the campaign trail. Gandhi is reportedly unwell, leading to some confusion within party ranks. Despite these hurdles, Congress has fielded prominent faces to challenge key AAP leaders and create a competitive atmosphere.
Rahul not campaigning
However, Rahul Gandhi is not campaigning in Delhi right now due to poor health. Due to which there is a state of confusion in the party. Congress created very good atmosphere in the initial phase of the election. Congress presented a challenge to the big leaders of AAP by fielding big faces, but right now it seems to be on the backfoot.
New Delhi seat is the hottest
Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting from New Delhi seat against the sons of two former Chief Ministers of Delhi i.e. Parvesh Verma (son of Sahib Singh Verma) of BJP and Sandeep Dixit (son of Sheila Dixit) of Congress. Voting will be held in Delhi on February 5 and counting of votes will be done on February 8. There is a triangular contest between the ruling AAP, BJP and Congress in Delhi.
