PM Narendra Modi conveyed his pride in welcoming investors to the sacred city of Raja Bhoj. While speaking at the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, he highlighted the limitless opportunities present across various sectors.
The Prime Minister remarked that today's program is a crucial step in the journey of transforming Madhya Pradesh into a developed state. He extended his congratulations to Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and his entire team for successfully organizing this key event.
PM Modi said that this is the first time in India's history that the entire world is keen to invest in the country. He said that people, policy experts, and institutions globally have high hopes from India. He emphasized that recent comments from global organizations would boost investor confidence. The Prime Minister referred to the World Bank's assertion that India will remain the world's fastest-growing economy in the coming years.
Modi also highlighted a UN organization's recognition of India as a solar power superpower. He said that while many countries only talk, India delivers results.
At the summit, PM Modi began by apologizing for his delayed arrival due to the 10th-12th grade board examinations. He said that he adjusted his schedule to accommodate the students.
PM launches over 18 new policies
During the event, he launched over 18 new policies from the Madhya Pradesh government aimed at boosting investment. A short film titled "Madhya Pradesh - Infinite Possibilities" was screened, showcasing the industrial potential of the state. Another short film, "India Growth Story" highlighted India's emergence as a leading economy under PM Modi's leadership.
Adani Group will invest Rs 1.10 lakh crores
On this occasion, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani announced a major investment of Rs 1.10 lakh crores in the mining, smart vehicle, and thermal energy sectors through a video message. He said that this investment would create employment for 1.2 lakh people by 2030. Adani plans an additional Rs 1 lakh crore investment in smart cities, airports, and coal bed areas following discussions with the government.
PM Modi said that Madhya Pradesh is the fifth largest state in India by population and ranks among the top states in agriculture and minerals. He said the state has great potential for growth and has the necessary conditions to rank among the top five states in the country.
PM Modi reflected on the past, mentioning that poor road conditions once hindered bus operations in Madhya Pradesh, but today the state is at the forefront of India's electric vehicle revolution. About 2 lakh electric vehicle have registered by January 2025. He hailed the Chief Minister for declaring this year as the year of industry and employment.
Big strides in infrastructure development
PM Modi pointed out that India has made big strides in infrastructure development over the past decades, with Madhya Pradesh benefiting greatly. He said that a major part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which connects two major cities, passes through Madhya Pradesh.
PM Modi also highlighted the state's logistics potential. He referred to the expansion of Gwalior and Jabalpur airport terminals and the modernization of a major railway track in Madhya Pradesh, which has achieved 100 percent electrification of its rail network. He lauded the captivating images of Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Bhopal and added that 80 railway stations in Madhya Pradesh are being modernized under the Amrit Bharat Yojana.
He informed investors that the last decade has been pivotal for India's energy sector, particularly in green energy, where over $70 billion (₹5 trillion) has been invested, resulting in more than 10 lakh jobs created in the clean energy sector last year alone.
