ICC Champions Trophy 2025: What Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Said After India's Comfortable Victory Against Pakistan

ICC Champions Trophy 2025: In the match between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday, former Indian team captain Virat Kohli scored a century.

India successfully chased down Pakistan's target of 242 runs in just 42.3 overs.

After the match, Kohli expressed his thoughts, stating, "I focused more on rotating the strike. This innings is very special because it has strengthened our hopes of reaching the semi-finals."

He added, "It was good to bat like this, especially in such an important game, where a place in the semi-finals had to be confirmed."

Kohli said, "After Rohit was out, I knew what I had to do. I had to control the middle overs and not take risks against the spinners while facing the fast bowlers."

He emphasized, "I try to do my job for my team as much as possible. I kept telling myself in the field that I will give my 100 percent, and sometimes I get the fruits of my hard work. When you do this, you get rewarded for it."

Kohli believes that if a team is unable to score 60-70 runs in the first ten overs, they will always be at a disadvantage in the game.

He praised his teammates, saying, "The way both of them (Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill) played was very good. Shreyas is also coming into good form. Everyone had a good innings in these conditions. Hopefully, this will be beneficial for us later in the tournament."

The way we started with bowling was excellent: Rohit

On India's victory, team captain Rohit Sharma commented, "I think the way we started with bowling was excellent. We wanted to replicate that in our batting to move forward and score runs."

He credited the middle-order batsmen, stating, "They have played a lot in this format and know what they have to do. The way Pakistan bowled should not be forgotten either. Everyone came out and did what they needed to do."

Rohit also acknowledged Kohli's achievement, saying, "Virat loves representing the country; he does what he does best, as he did today."
