Mamata had said Mahkumbh has turned into Mrityu Kumbh
CM Mamata said that Mahkumbh has turned into 'Mrityu Kumbh'.She expressed concerns that VIPs are receiving special privileges while the less fortunate are being left without essential facilities. They are in need of support. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee emphasized that adequate planning for this significant event was lacking.
Mamata further said that I respect Maha Kumbh, I respect holy Ganga Maa. But there was no comprehensive plan for the event. There are provisions for affluent people, with VIP camps (tents) costing up to Rs 1 lakh, yet no arrangements have been made for the poorer attendees. She said that stampede situations are common at the fair and stressed the importance of making proper arrangements. She questioned the planning that has been implemented.

Lalu Prasad Yadav commented on the situation, describing the gathering at Kumbh as unnecessary given the large crowds and expressed his sorrow over this unfortunate incident. He said it is the fault of the railways. This incident has happened due to mismanagement and negligence. So many people have died. I am very sorry. The Railway Minister should take responsibility for this.
