Arvind Kejriwal, the convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has made serious allegations against the BJP, claiming they engaged in horse-trading of candidates. He stated that his MLAs and candidates were allegedly offered Rs 15 crore each via phone calls. In response to this situation, a meeting of all 70 candidates was convened today at 11:30 AM to discuss the issue.
Following Kejriwal's accusations, the BJP reached out to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, requesting an investigation into the claims. Consequently, the LG has instructed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to look into the matter. Reports indicate that the ACB team has begun their investigation at the residences of Kejriwal, MP Sanjay Singh, and Mukesh Ahlawat.
These allegations emerged after exit polls from three agencies were released on February 6, following a voting turnout of 60.54% on February 5 for the 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections.
In a show of confidence, AAP leader Gopal Rai expressed that their party expects to secure around 50 seats, He said there is a tight race for 6-7 seats. He said BJP is attempting to manipulate the election atmosphere through exit polls and are actively trying to entice AAP MLAs.
