487 more Indians identified for deportation; PM Modi to raise issue of deportation of Indians during meet with Trump in US


New Delhi: The US military aircraft C-17 Globemaster carrying 104 Indian immigrants deported from the US reached Amritsar on Wednesday afternoon. After this, the Opposition in India raised questions on the foreign policy of the central government. Meanwhile, illegal Indian immigrants were sent back handcuffed during a 40-hour flight in a US military aircraft. This has created a ruckus in India.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the US on February 12-13. During this, he will also raise the issue of mistreatment of illegal immigrants. Sources gave this information. According to reports, this issue will be raised in the talks between the PM and US President Donald Trump.


Amidst this ruckus, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said on Friday that he has expressed concern to the US on the issue of sending back illegal immigrants handcuffed and such behavior could have been avoided.


487 Indian citizens identified


On questions related to the deportation of migrants, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that we have informed the US about our concerns that this type of behavior can be avoided. Misri said that 487 Indian citizens have been identified to be deported from the US.


The US has shared the details of 298 Indian citizens with India. He said that the information sent by the US officials is being verified. Further steps will be taken after this.
